Anyone who has rowed in boats, whether they are singles or eights, that have been and have not been rigged correctly can easily answer that question, I think. For me, it's the difference between something that is smooth as silk and actually a bit forgiving and something that is almost painful and certainly obnoxious. I am anything but a great rower, but that this is even a question in some peoples’ minds is kind of surprising.
